The best combination. Man on ground, Horse carrying deer.

I always laugh when I look at this horses expression. I went for a hunt with this young guy I knew once upon a time.
He had been given a pack horse that was supposed to be a good one and at the time it was running with a mob of station hacks. So we run the mob in and Peter says that's him so we throw a rope on him and head of up into the tussock. I shot a mob of deer and we take the horse down to them and he pretends he has never seen a deer before and put up a right performance.

Well the deer aren't going to walk to the Landcruiser by themselves so I picks a suitable stick and give the horse a touch up to show it who's boss and it finally accepts the bloody carcases being loaded on its back. All the way back with the two loads the bloody horse blew through its nostrils, side stepped and performed so bad I said "Peter are you sure this horse has carried deer before..." Yeah he reckoned, done it all its life"

Well we take the horse back to the station and the Manager says to me "Graeme you would be a cheeky bastard that is my favourite hack. I go to catch him the other day and he's gone"

How embarrassing, You would have thought the young fulla would have known his own bloody horse.
