Thread: Rogers Hut

A question.
How often are the LINZ maps and DOC maps updated to show this kind of thing?
I am thinking that sooner or later, a tramper or hunter who is relying on such maps and heads to a now (potentially ) non existing hut to duck for cover is going to find themselves out in the cold

It's already happened. I suspect more than once.
Was a problem in the 70's when some of the huts up the Ohau disappeared.
Probably got worse when DOC started it's spree of hut removals on the 80's/90's
At least now we can check the relevant sites before heading out.
Hopefully their up to date.
