Thread: Waianakarua's "Kahikatea Lodge"

Heading in here for the first time this week coming, got some good intel from the chap who handles the bookings about where to hunt, 2 nights, 3 days.....itching to get going!!

I’m heading up here with mine and another family this Sunday as an overnighter. Is there ok hunting close ish to the hut so I could sneak away for a cheeky evening and/or morning hunt? My freezer is nearly empty and needs filling

Just go out the hut turn right the bush opens out and good big clearings the deer have been known to frequent around the hut have a good glass over towards the hut from the car park

Awesome thanks mate. Looking forward to heading in there. I see on the doc site for this there may be wild sheep in there. Is that actually likely? I would love to nab some wild lamb if it’s on offer!

Yeah we shot a ewe on the main clearing on the way out when we went. Easy enough.
