Any help appreciated ! Cheers

I've been to all the huts 'cept 5 in The Ruahines, and don't recognise it, so its either one of those 5, or it's close to farmland and has been built privately.
Thats Daphne up the Tuki

I am sure it's not a private hut....we were on the tops and bailed out via this hut due to bad weather and from memory the road end was about 3 hours from this hut......
DOC website shows a verandah over the entrance now. How long ago was the photo taken?
Aaaah, dolt me. OP says 85, 86.
Could it have in any way been private back the? That original front door has that recycled/repurposed look about it.
Obviously a popular tramping club hut.
Cheers...it's all coming back to me now....Happy Daze, Awatere, up the big slip to Longview then out via Howletts and Daphne...goodtimes !
Been to Daphne hut...but not that hut. I see on the hut bagger web site a photo of that A frame beside the standard S70 hut that I remember. The A frame must have been constructed post 1976 ish.
Daphne Hut in the upper Tuki Tuki River.
Not a DOC hut, but it is in the Ruahine Forest Park. Built and maintained by the Lions Club.
