Going to hunt Cattle Flat (old Block 9 - then 8!) up the Blue Mountains.
Can anybody confirm if the wire bridge is still there?
(As you may guess I haven’t been there for a while!)

There wasn't one there between 2005 and 2014

I meant for keeping boots dry. Get through stream in old sneakers or what ever and then put ya nice dry boots on! But yeah for sneaking around in the bluesy dive booties will be ideal.
Great minds think alike!
We went down the ‘old sneakers for creek crossing’ idea, you should have seen the look on Mrs Finnwolf face when she first stepped into the Rankleburn and felt the cold water - and again when putting on the wet sneakers for recrossing on the return trip!
She’s now just back from The Warehouse with some el cheapo ‘Crocks’ for each of us for creek crossing duties.
No deer seen let alone shot, sign was there but wind was all over the place like a mad woman’s poos....did find a real big arse pig wallow, about the depth and length of the Grand Canyon.
Mrs Finnwolf is keen to head back for another look, fingers crossed we can find a deer next time..
Good stuff Finnwolf, its a nice block. I haven't hunted it for years. That wind is pretty typical for the Blueys in my experience.
plastic bag over feet inside the crocs will help too...
great to hear you two getting out n about
it will only be a matter of time and the x39 will get the bizo done for you.
You going back in tomorrow Finnwolf? You'll have the permit for the whole weekend no doubt. You know you can access the block off Jacks Hill Road too eh? Come in from the top of the block for a bit of different country and keep ya boots dry!
Hilljacks Road I mean...
Well just home from the hospital and the old broiler is fairly tough - so although she’s still in hospital she seems to be on the mend ( fingers crossed!).
However never got to get back to the Blueys.
Speaking of them, do a lot of hunters not know what they SHOULD do with their rubbish?
Mrs Finnwolf and I were appalled at the rubbish at the end of the road - brown bottles of varying sizes and shapes, broken glass, old beer cans, shotgun shells, empty plastic bottles etc etc.
Sorry for the rant, I guess I’m venting what with my mums situation.
Forgot to mention: we picked up the offending rubbish and it’s now in our wheelie bin.
road ends are terrible for it.... we see it around here and USUALLY its young dumb full of cum dairy staff, bored with little to do with time off, so buy a box or two...hoon around lake shore, piss up and chuck empties onto rocks then piss off again...the tracks are stuffed, rutted so its dodgy to take wagon around where we used to take 2wd station wagon with boat trailer in tow.
Its the same down here , The 4wd rut marks/bogs fucks me off no end , its just a disgrace a complete eye sore , take people over the river at just about any access point and that or rubbish is what greets them.
