Thread: 308 to 6.5 creedmoor

The 6.5 cm seems to have more options of match and hunting loads available compared to the 260.
Yes barrel swap should be easy for the competent gunsmith. You could keep your 308 barrel if you ever change your mind. Your 6.5 barrel would re sell well if it had been fitted to a popular action ( rem or tikka)and still shoots good.

Any reason the Creedmoor, or just the hype, it would be cool yes, but.
Seriously you would be better off changing to a 260, slightly more horse power and if you wish you'd get away with a shorter barrel then the creedmoor for the same speed.
Even more benefit if your a handloader, though if they sell enough Creedmoors the likelyhood is even here in NZ there will be more choice of probably very accurate factory loads.
