Thread: Advice please.

A few weeks ago I used the forum to sell a barrel and included bank details for the buyer to pay me. So Far, despite numerous PMs and a hand written reminder the buyer has not paid .The tracking number confirms that it was delivered. Where do I go from here? Advice please.

If you have taken all reasonable steps to no avail - time to name the culprit

maybe ask moderators via PM to try contacting said purchaser????...just to check that PMs etc are working....SOMETIMES life just gets in the way ,but poor form to not follow through with the dosh...
triple check you sent correct bank account number....too easy to miss a digit

Probably two options;
If you shipped it the mail order form would have the address and details of the buyer. Lodge a claim with small claims court although this might not be worth it.
Name the user on here, someone may know them personally.

Just a note, but if you didn't do a s43a mail order form, I wouldn't pursue this matter in any legal capacity. The punishment for contravening Section 43a of the Arms Act is up to 6 months prison and up to $10,000 fine.

Probably best in future you receive payment before shipping unless you personally know the buyer.

We're a pretty trusting bunch overall but occasionally some lowlife will abuse the trust. I had an equivalent situation with a stock. Sent it off before he paid then he went to ground. A minimal amount of detective work on a distinctive name ended up revealing his work address. Called the number and he in fact answered, about five seconds of shocked silence after I told him who was ringing.. Paid that night.

Taught me a lesson to send only after payment.

Name and shame time. You have played nice to no avail - out the person and let his friends on here know what he has done

He sent me a pm, I replied with a couple suggestions, I also asked who he was dealing with to see if there were any technical issues. to date I have not heard anything back ?

I got burnt once by a fella named Andrew Davis aka Drewski. I paid and never got the package then he vanished after some bullshit excuses. Like to say I learnt my lesson but I'd be lying, no troubles since but I do try and check out the person I'm dealing with the best I can. Hope you get some resolution Gary. Just name him so someone can help you out

@garyp if you pm me some details my offer to try help still stands. As I hadn't heard any more from you I assumed the matter had been sorted.
