    Anyone know about any changes to the law concerning AR's??

    I was in a Gunshop today talking to one of the staff I won't say which Gunshop only its in Christchurch and the biggest in the world this guy was telling me about changes happening soon he says anyone already with an AR style rifle will Have to register it with the police as a MSSA they will get an E endorsement automatically. Anyone without is not going to be able to purchase one on a cat A and no more semi auto's will ever come into the country again I'm hoping it's all bullshit I'm still waiting for my Cat A. Has anyone else heard anything like this???

    Also Ken doesn't sell Chinese ARs or other brand ARs with Chinese bits inside them like the other retailer mentioned here has been known to do...

    He has Colt ARs for $1699 at the moment, what a steal. I also have no connection other than being happy customer.

    Nope he didn't get a sale. He started first of all talking specifically about AR 15's then changed to all cat A semi's will become catE

    But the guy at gun city in Wellington did tell me once that the Norinco M305 rifles were equal to or superior to the Springfield M1A, and the Norinco ones could outshoot the M1A.

    There has been no bill introduced to Parliament that include any of the changes you mention.

    Should recommendations for law change come from the current Select Committee into Illegal Possession of Arms, it will take some time and several steps before it becomes law.
