That being said, I can imagine the drop on a 308 at 800m would be quite substantial, how do you set up a target to get the exact drop?

Yeah somewhere were you can chuck up a bit of paper and drive to shooting spot.....

I just dedicate half a day at start or end of a trip on a open tops trip for a few rounds and don't care if a scare animals.
