    May Newsletter

Howdy guys, the May newsletter was ready to be e-mailed out last week but there was an admin GYAIG failure & communication breakdown which coincided with Spanners going MIA in Texas somewhere, the result has been a major cock up & thats why you haven't received it

So for those of you that were wondering where it was Ive updated it & here is the basic "no frills version", You will still receive an e-mail at some point

    Greetings all

Well shit it’s May already & boy the year is certainly flying by, the roar is now a distant memory, the game bird season is under way & the forum has been going for six months

The Roar has been & gone for another year with some nice stags being knocked over, but sadly yet again there has been a couple of shooting mishaps, showing that the golden rules of the arms code are there for a reason, here’s a friendly reminder for you all

1- Treat every firearm as loaded
2- Always point firearms in a safe direction
3- Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    4- Identify your target
    5- Check your firing zone
6- Store firearms & ammo safely
7- Avoid alcohol & drugs when handling firearms

Also the biggest day of the hunting calendar has just rolled over with the opening of the Duck shooting season, it sounds like a good numbers were taken throughout the country on the Saturday, but Sunday was a little quiet. I didn't hear of any major incidents or accidents so well done everyone

So what’s happening on the NZHS forum this month, well the small game / varmint competition winner has been announced, congratulations to Falconhill for his story about taking the kids looking for Easter Bunny, for just spending a few minutes posting his story Falcon will be receiving a brand new Bushnell Trophy XLT rifle scope worth over $250 kindly donated by Lindsay from Shooters World in Gore.
2nd went to Landlock winning a boresnake & 3rd was K Scott receiving a Winchester driver set, thanks to Spanners & Crzyman for providing these prizes, which just goes to show - you've gotta be into win.

Re- the two current competitions, With the duck season open, the Game bird comp is now up and running & entries for the roar comp have now closed & the voting thread is now open, thanks to Sneeze he has a grouse roaring horn to also give away during the competition as well as a couple of spot prizes, remember the one with the most likes wins the Zedteq Skinner valued at $200 & bragging rights until next year so have your say on who will be the big game champ of 2012 ?

Also the April "best thread" went to Steve338 for a great little story about him & his new hunting buddy so congrats Steve & I hope the little gizmo comes in handy

We also have a couple of bulk buy deals going, one on Zedteq knifes & also on Back Country Cuisine meals so check out the bulk buy section, also there are a couple more deals in the pipeline so keep an eye on the BB section, plus Norways LR DVD is still available & there are also NZHS Swazi beanies for sale, contact Crzyman for details.

And last but not least, the forum just passed the 6 month mark & we are going bloody well with over 600 members & over 8000 visitors in April
But a good site is nothing without great members & there is a group of NZHS faithful that deserve a big “pat on the back” for contributing & supporting the forum over the last six months, so thanks to all those of you that have participated & got involved.

What will the next 6 months hold for NZHS will that’s up to you guys, get posting & get stuck in, remember you get out what you put in and we always welcome you comments & opinions while trying our best to keep everyone happy

Until next time, here’s to hot barrels & then cold beers
crzyman, madjon_ and Splash like this.
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!
