Yes - I thought about the option to wait but didn't want a Police squad at my door one day enquiring and taking away my wee Marlin - plus other arms for non compliance! Some strange over-reactions happening these days. They may amend the new law - and should - but I doubt there is political climate for it at the moment.

Decided to do the small alteration with Greg Maniatis. Makes it legal at 10 shot and no real loss with the rifle. 5 years ago we'd pop over 1000 bunnies a night in North Canterbury, but those days are gone. Now you'd be lucky to use one tube. 10 will do for me. Greg's number in Chch is 0274879611.

Yep a 60 in 22WMR could be fun. Marlin did try a .17 cal semi but that didn't work well - a 17M2 model 717. Case splitting and other probs - wasn't round for long. I think??? Savage made a semi too in 17HMR and it also was not a success.
