    plucking cold possums

Anyone out there got any easy ways of plucking cold possums or do I need to get my hands on a plucker?

    plucking cold possums

You need a plucker. It is also possible to chemically ‘slip’ the hair, obviously you’d need to skin them though.

Best way Iv seen is to put the possum on its back and one foot on its tail, grab its head with the one hand and stretch it out, with the other hand poke a finger up its bum (bout half way) This will cause the skin to relax for long enough to pluck em easily.
wont work on really old possums, but overnight usually helps.
Once fingered you don't have much time so be quick.

Skin it and cover flesh side with slacked lime - leave over night and it slips off - best way of getting ALL that fur off - but a bit messy
    Prob misspelled slacked ??

Thanks for the replies!Sounds like a plucker is the only way to go.Have looked around and they aren't cheap so may have to look at doing a home made one.Any advice on that?
