Private sub-forum for members or make the whole forum private?

Given recent events, and likelihood of the media and general public pouring over it to find things to use against us, could we have a sub-forum to discuss issues in private? Hidden to those not logged in. A more extreme option could be to hide the entire forum to logged out users, and temporarily suspend new registrations.

I tend to agree. Close it out to "non-members".
The trolls are already signing up and shit stirring from what they have read "freely" and other fucktards are using what is said on here in the media.

    Sorry, but I dis agree.
Go down the road of blocking people out, and the obvious conclusion will be that we have something to hide

How about just a single sub-forum then?

I can see both sides of the argument presented above.
There will be members here that don’t agree with ‘our’ majority position regarding guns, and they are welcome and entitled to their options, as are those opposed to theirs in return.
But as mentioned, it will keep the public away.

I think maybe it’s discussed with Admin and see what happens

Maybe it's just me, but seems to be a lot of posts from new "members" at the moment and a good proportion are not in keeping with the good nature of this forum.

Anyone got any evidence anything from here has ever been used in the media, anywhere? They would never dare. We would have 20,000 members 3 days later. No one ever says anything stupid they are not called on. This place is fine. I believe new members are still locked out.

Certainly the 70 post crowd have been more vocal than usual, but nothing major.

One of my posts has been directly quoted in the UK media when the minister of conservation called hunters "cunters" accidentally.

I believe that the reminder of constant possible public scrutiny should help us all remember our manners.

People are watching. Anything you say on here may end up front page news as an example of how gun owners and hunters in general behave.

Admin has discussed and the decision is to NOT discuss it in a private section.

Remember we are under constant public scrutiny here, especially now, and thus some thought should be made in regards to your posts.

Canadian gun nutz forum is totally locked down. To view it you have to be a member and those that take the time to register tend not to bother with the risk of getting shit canned because they are in trolling mode. Too much effort for little gain.

Why not lock out new members for the next four weeks. At least in to things settle down. Those that are legit will understand the reasons behind this
