Thread: Question for Mods

I had a private message from a moderator.

Currently I dont have access to private messages so am not able to respond to that message .

My question is - how long or how many posts does a member have to make before he gets access to those currently off-limits aspects of the Forum?

It was me that PM you, I cannot say when you will have access (that's not my area of expertise) but it will be sooner or later, don't stress about it. It was just a friendly heads up, when you get access to your pm's feel free to reply. I'm not gonna publicly tar and feather anyone for a very slight indiscretion that I have already fixed.

so theres no set rules around when and who can access things on the forum? Its at the whim of some else who shall remain nameless? Seems unusual thats all.

I guess that's to stop people posting "x" number of shit posts just to get into the buy/sell section.

it's not that at all, unfortunately we have recently had a massive influx of scammers and spammers joining to rip off genuine members, so we have had to change approval process for new accounts. I am not going to go into the ins and outs of it (as we don't need these scum bags understanding how to circumvent our latest attempts to bamboozle them) but if you hang around and contribute you will have access to things.
Sorry that's just how it is, if you do decide to hang around you will understand it's not something that has been done lightly.

Good call. The Buy and Sell section of this site is based around a huge amount of trust amongst member. I for one would never like to see that compromised.

We've had a lot of scammers trying to rip off members. The lesser of 2 evils is that I decide if you're a scammer before you get access to certain features. You'll have to live with that, if you want to participate on this forum. Sucks if you manage to run afoul of the single rule we have before that decision is made

good on you mods..you doing a shitty job well.... spammers are pond scum of the bottom feeding kind. if whatever youve cooked up makes it harder for them..and it causes a little bit of delay etc for rest of us..so be it.
