    2013 Hangawera Station Sniper shoot

Early this morning people started turning up on the station just out of Gordington to attend the 2013 Hangawera station sniper shoot .This shoot has been running for many years now with the event organizer Harry Hoover "mountain safety officer " and the most winning-est shooter of the Charles Upham military rifle shoot ever 4 xin a row !
Harrys event is a great day with many coming from around the country and as far from as Australia .

The event always starts out with the full contingent listing to Harry outline the shoot and first and foremost the safety procedures -never ever had an accident and long may it last .

Several forum members regularly attend this shoot and myself included -I was there to defend my last years title of "I beat rest of ya "! Sadly I turned up unorganized -and I knew and proceeded top get caned good and proper !!!!lol
Hillary , Harrys wife and a former world champion millatary rifle shooter was organizing the scoring with a group of spotters .Hillary also organized a packed lunch and drinks for all shooters which makes life so easy .

Gillie was the first shooter on the blocks and it was wonderful to watch another former winner of this event totally screw up having read his dope incorrectly and with me spotting for him pepper the surrounding area at 500 yards --that was him stuffed .
Gille this time bought his very lovely partner along who I might add does not have a license and under Gillies direction proceeded to fire winning shots to his embarrassment I am sure --after the point are added up to mine also I am sure .Dirty Old Matt Ryan who loves to watch me squirm as my shots go some where they shouldn't was on pretty good form before I left especially at the longs being 1100 yards onto a ten inch disk .Matt regularly shoots a savage 338LM and shoots it with plenty of skill , he has also just won the Charles Upham belt this past January a goal he has been investing in for some time which has finally paid off .Thats me -two shots in the red shirt

As I knew I hadn't a hope in hell of winning this time round I left after my final shoot so hopefully Gillie gives a further report of the day Name: POT_4895.jpg
