@Dirtyface, not exactly sure what you mean when you say "spotter" so here goes:
You can turn up as an individual without a mate to spot for you (i.e. spotter) but we are using squads of three this year so chances are someone else can and will spot and score for you.
A spotting scope (i.e. spotter?) is recommended but not required for spotting and scoring for another competitor. We recommend spotting scopes but competitors can use their rifle scope or a good pair of binos (with a good solid support) if they wish.
