Don't use .22 supersonic for hunting these days, 17hmr does that
Not to sound stupid but why subsonic for hunting? i have found it not very hard hitting, also my new 22 is not threaded.

Don't use it on deer and you will be fine
BRADS, PERRISCICABA and Micky Duck like this.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Each rifle, particularly .22 rimfire, has a particular brand of ammo it shoots best with. Try a wide variety of ammo for grouping, rifle functioning and accuracy. Don't seek other people's opinions- only you can discover what's best for your firearm.

CCI subs are also hollow point which helps, sub sonic helps keeping the noise down esp when shooting in paddocks so not to scare everything else too much, and easier on the ears of the shooter. I had more trouble with CCI SV solids punching straight through but the HP stopped the rabbits in their tracks, for me.

Less noise, handy around stock and people-as well as not alerting other game.

If I'm going to make the noise that goes with supersonic ill normally use 17hmr as it extends the range even more and as much less of a ricochet risk than .22.

    It's a fair question
