0 to 90gr works great in most 243s.

My favourates are: 70gr Blitzkings for Culling and general hunting.

    85gr Gameking or 87gr Vmax for hunting/competition.

    Greetings,
Depends on the twist. If it is a 1 in 10" (you should measure it to make sure) you may struggle to stabilise anything 100 grains with a boat tail. Remington rifles mostly have a i in 9" twist that is more tolerant. Others will have their favourites to recommend.

where you hunt....100grn round nose/coreloct/winchester they should stabalize... 50 yards being a barrel stretch for you so dont need flashharry pills.
    75/15/10 black powder matters

Yea looks like the original barrel so I'm picking 1-10...
Will be mainly used for when I'm out chasing goatdeer (fallow and sika) ....
So probably don't need heavy loads

I'm not retiring the 30/30 or the 8mm one of these will always be taken to pureora or whirinaki

Found this review on the Speer pages for their #1213 85gn SP Boat Tail FWIW

"Today at 82 years of age, I've been using this bullet for over 60 years in the same Ruger 77 bolt-action rifle. That rifle has shot the bullet close to a 1" group, sometimes less, using an almost max-load of IMR 4350. For the last 10 years, I've move up to a manual recommended max-load of 46 gr of IMR 4350, and Fed.GM210M primer in a Winchester case, no pressure signs ever. But I make sure any shots fired are not during hot weather. That load still gives me a 1" group and great results on over 100 deer. I always do a behind the shoulder-lung shot. The deer sometimes may run 30 or 40 yards before going down, and sometimes they drop like a rock. The bullet always does a through-and-through which gives a good blood-trail since there's two holes in the lung area. I've never-taken shoulder shots which may have different results, but I'm always going for the lung shot. That #1213 , 85gr bullet has been for 60 years, a fast flat-shooting missile feared by all deer, and loved by me."

I know a lot but it seems less every day...

Due to the exorbitant cost of reloading components, warning shots will not be given.

Federal Blue Box 80gr worth a try in the rifle first. I deal for what you are going after.

Winchester 100gn Power Points sacked 3 reds on the spot at 200mtrs a few weeks back. It's all I use.

The cheap as chips hornady whitetail 100gr ammo has bang flopped everything I've pointed it at.

I bought my wife a p h 243 and have been playing around with hand loads for it. This one shoots best with 80-85gn pills anything heavier its minute of a4. Seems to be the way with all the early model 243s Ive owned...

95gr SST have been a mainstay for my .243, more accurate than I can be, and effective on fallow and reds
