Thread: 243ai

Hey, who here has (or had) a 243AI.
I have a 6BR with fast twist barrel I am thinking I will stoke up a bit more by cutting it out to a 243. Was thinking 6XC but the 243 is so easy to get stuff for brass dies etc so I thought maybe AI it would give some benefits too.
Any upsides other than speed, or downsides you guys can offer? It is overbore I know already, so barrel life will decrease but shit they're not going to stop making barrels. The current barrel is near new and 1:8 so I plan to shoot 105s+ and put the rifle on a diet to make it a lot more of a sportier rather than the heavy club it is now.
Also thinking of a High Tech stock for this rifle. Anyone got experience with them? They look pretty sweet for the price and I am reasonably handy so I should be able to finish it myself. It a Rem700 action (well whats left of it).
