    Thanks , definitely leaning towards a .260.
The thing with a Creedmoor is is supports the .260 by the variety or availability of more 6.5 projectiles.
I'm aware of the relatively close performance and ballistics but I just don't want to fold to the Creedmoor trend.

I'm running 44grs 2209 powder behind a 120 grn sierra pro hunter pill ..2879 fps in an 18inch Model 7.
It has a bad habit of being extremely spot on and keeps wanting ti go into the same hole lol..

W760 or H414 & 120gr Sierra Prohunter was good for 2800fps in an 18" M7 my son had. Not a hot load but very accurate, which is where you want to be. Trying to be a velocity hound can be costly on brass.....I know, I'm a hound

When i was running my m7 with a 20" 260 barrel i was using either 120 SPH, 120 NBT or 123gr Amax with H414, running them all to fit the mag. All killed stuff well.

My 260 barrel was a factory slow twist and wouldnt shoot anything over 123gr

Ive screwd a rem 700 8 twist 6.5 CM barrel on it now, the CM case fits the short M7 mag better with 143gr eldx seated out in neck if thats important to you. Re26 gets the 143s moving pretty well in the CM.

I mocked the CM for years to but its a well designed cartridge and it fits the m7 better than the 260 when running 140+ pills.

Yep the CM or 6 5 x 47 are the true short action honeys. I run 6.5 x 55s myself
