300m targets - where to get

    Hello All,

After trying our luck at 200 m and getting a bit of practice in with the 200m targets we have its getting tempting to have a lot more fun at 300. Have looked all over the place and having trouble finding 300 metre sized targets. Does any one know where to get some from? Or even the correct size paper to buy. Been cruising around the net for a bit now and seem to be able to find some in USA but none here?

    Cheers

A 300 m sized target would be ungainly and Im thinking if you need one that big shooting may not be for you.

That would depend on your sense of humour.

Not to be rude or offensive but please get the facts before a comment like that
Currently using a 200m target at 300 but... with iron sights and still getting at least 3 out of 5 on paper would just like to know where other 2 are... not to mention only been shooting iron sight milsurp rifles for a few months so still learning.
In a sport like ours where there is so much negativity by the anti gunners you should be promoting the community instead of trying to put people off. Not to mention that with some research and a ballistics app our 10 year old was putting holes in a 200m target today at 300m with iron sights and no other help as well.... I hope this has cleared up why we are after 300m targets. The official sized ones for shooting competitions would definitely provide a more accurate gauge of our progress as our abilities slowly develop :-)

    You missed the joke.

He was making a joke about a 300m target being a tad large - as in a target measuring 300m across! He needed to put a smiley face at the end of the post.

He also did not mention any competition shooting and still has not mentioned what type of competition so we are still non the wiser what the hell he is talking about.

Ahhhhhh lol smiley would have cleared that up lol. Although a 300 meter target would make trying out the Ruger precisions at 1600m a deffinate hit lol

I usually use a bit of a4 paper at all ranges and if I cannot hit it then I put it too far away.

Well yeah but a smiley would be a bit like saying " hey look at the joke I just made" which seems to kill the joke .
The key is to not take anything on the internet to seriously. Like @R93, hes on the internet and really cant be taken seriously at all.

A large target sized correctly to shoot at 300m, with open or aperture sights the size of the black circle (bull) is quite important
A SR3 if the offical 300yd target and is probably close enough but will be hard to get in NZ.
The NZDA head office may have something.

You can access them from the NRANZ office in Wellington. Go to the NRANZ website and look for contacts. Email the Secretary from the direct link asking for ISSF 300 metre full face and replacement centres. The centres extend only to the 7 ring. Shoot 10 rounds for score on each centre, 6 centres for a match for a possible 600-60x.
They may sell to the public, or you may have to find a member to help you with the purchase. There is a contact phone number that is usually manned during working hours.
