Thread: 308 HORNADY SUPERFORMANCE 165gr ssts v 150grssts

Years ago I always used 165gr ssts until they were getting hard to get,165gr always grouped well.Then for last summer I used 150gr ssts.Shot a lot of deer with it,but it never grouped well at the range,tx3 18inch barrel.
Now there seems to be a few pks of 165gr around iv brought a few pkts.
Been trying to get zero more accurate the last week
when there's no wind about.Nice today so went to the range and fired one shot at each 12mm dot.I was very pleased with the result.1st shot on left was cold bore dirty barrel(20shots after clean)100yds.
Could never shoot 150grs as good as 165gr ssts.

After firing 2 shots I packed up and drove the truck down to the target.Thort no more $5 shots i go home.Then i thort wander if I can do that again,oh bugger it il go back, set the 308 up on the bonnet of truck and fire a third shot at dot on rigth.Get the breathing right and touch off the trigger.Well that shot will do.
Last week I shot a group at 400yds,group centre for elevation was 1/2 below bull.So drop chart good to 500yds.
