    .308 vs 12mm steel

Put some rounds through my rifle today at 100m. First pic is 12mm mild steel plate, 155gr Lapua Scenars almost went through, only about 2mm left at the bottom of the crater and severe bulging, the hole in it was done with a AP round out of the same gun.

Second pic is 12mm bis alloy, Scenar didn't even dent it, armour peircing round went straight through it. Need to find some more AP rounds

Showes the difference between mild and high tensile/hardened steels and obviously AP and hunting/target projectiles well tho!

Were the AP, incinderary savage or is that just in the 50?

Unsure of grade, just wanted to show the difference between mild steel and biz. Had a couple of AP rounds so wanted to try them out, bloody surprised they went through the biz so easily. Would be great on engine blocks.

Be careful shooting steel as close as 100yds, minimum for safety is closer to 300 yds.

Damn would love to find some 303 AP rounds. I have a mate with 120 acres and it has 4 trashed cars on it. Would love to see how far it would go through an engine block. Subsonic .22 rounds clear the door panels so easily.

Can you try a AP on a bit of the thick biz please savage, would-be very interesting to see.

Really? Wow, I wouldn't have thought that. Ricochet's can come right back at you from 100yds?

I will if I can find some more AP ammo, anyone got any lying around. I just randomly got given 2 rounds, they had black tips. Anyone know where you can buy it?
