Understanding how a Sabot round out of a tank gun works, gives a better understanding how rifle projectiles perform (or dont).

Saying an arrow will out penetrate a rifle bullet.... well that would be dependent on the bullet.

Again, can be explained by SD.
An arrow has a way, way higher SD compared to a hunting bullet so can afford to hit it's target with a far lower speed to achieve the same penetration. Plus an arrow is not designed to deform like a bullet so it's SD doesn't change inside the target as per ChrisW's comment.

I’ve seen a demo on military ranges of a brick wall being smashed up in seconds by good old 7.62 from a general purpose machine gun. Check what’s coming the other way before thinking a brick wall will save you.
