6.5 ELDM 147g any good for hunting?

Reloading for a 6.5 creedmoor ( hunting mostly) I have 140 partitions and 139 grain SST. Have been Fireforming new Lapua brass with 95g V-Max and a mid charge of 43g of Staball 6.5 and have got pressure signs and have come to the conclusion that my rifle just doesn't like the V max. I have read the the Forementioned ELDM is used successfuly at long range but would it be any good on lightish goats/deer in the close ranges ie 50-100m. They would also be used to fireform new brass, just thought if it's shooting in a straight line why not??

Work amazing out to 800y for me (6.5/06ai) devastating at short range, wrecks a bit of meat I must admit. Neck shoot and you have no problem.

Yes. Prefer the eld-m over the eld-x for hunting

Tbf, that's probably not a very good powder to use for the V-Max. Bit too slow burning for 95gr pills. Ball powders can be very dirty and erratic with light loads under them.

I bet if you tried some AR2208, they'd shoot better.

No but I used the 140gr Amax for years - the ELDM is constructed identically, simply a different form factor, and it was terrific

I have used few bullets for my personal hunting for the last 14 years other than :
    - 140gr Amax from 6.5x47, 6.5x55, .260
    - 147gr ELDM from .260
    - 80gr ELDM from .223

All have worked tremendously well - my future use in a future cartridge will also be an ELDM (assuming it shoots acceptable precision)f

Of course a range of other bullets from other cartridges for other uses where I am not selecting or paying and they also generally work reasonably well.

I use 147 in 260. Works a charm from point blank to 600 yards.

What sort of speeds are you getting from the 147 in 260?
I am currently getting upto about 2750fps with 143 eldx in a 20 inch barrel
