    7mm practical load test

Finally got a couple of hours to fire off some rounds. ADI 2225 72-74 grains in 0.5 increments
180gr eldm rounds. Only second time in my short reloading career I’ve got a three shot group all touching. Still got 2217 to try but happy so far. Had a challenge with the lab radar turning itself off so only got two speeds 2930 ish with 74gr.
    Loads of fun

Nice work I found 2217 gave better velocity in mine over 2225, both with vld’s and standard primers. Nice tight group at the end that will make you happy.

Hopefully I can fire of the other batch in the not to distant future. Hard to escape with 3 young kids though. Haha

    G'day all,
finally got a chance to get back to the range and fire off the last 12 rounds with 2217. Very interesting results. best group was with 73gr of 2217 which had average speed of 2930fps as well. this was the same as 74gr of 2225 which gave my best group in that lot. So seems like this rifle loves the 180gr going through it at 2930fps. Pretty stoked with that. Now I need to test it out at longer ranges when I can find a place and time.
Will probably stick with the 2217 as its 1gr less. Unless any one can advise on why 74gr 2225 would be better.
    Cheers

2227 is more temp stable, little less erratic, however ive found 2225 to be an excellent powder too. If i were you id stick with the 2217 considering the current component crisis, 2217 is a plenty at the moment however 2225 is at slim pickings
