You left out the Weatherby mag, Shouldn't it get a mention if only for Nostalgia ?

yeah, and the 7mm/300 WM & the 7mmSTW, & the 7mmWSM ..... hmmm maybe food for thought.

How far have you pushed your current set up?
It’s possibly a lot more capable than you think it is.
A 168 Berger or ABLR in front of Retumbo or RL26 is no slouch on long range steel or animals.

Can you even have the factory tikka barrels reamed anymore?

Out of curiosity, who will ream a Tikka barrel these days?
When i wanted mine done neither Gunworks or Hardy would do it.

Greg just got back to me, he’s been super busy. Unfortunately no, he does not re-chamber tikka barrels

Dave Ward in Dovedale does. He’s doing one for me as we speak - 7-08 to .284 Win. The last one he did shoots 162s ELD-X into .5 MOA 5 shot groups. He knows what he’s doing.

I still think the idea of hand feeding 180eldms will be the way to go. Guy i know shoots them out of his 280ai at a touch over 3k and on his last trip shot 1 tahr at over 1140yds(I am 99% sure of that figure). If you can even shoot them at 2850 you will have 1350ft/lbs~ and be doing a touch of 1800fps @ 1000yds which is more than enough to knock over a big red.
