    8x57 mauser yugo surplus

Hi guys, many people shooting the yugo surplus ammunition???

Been reading mix reviews about it, case head separation, corrosive primers etc. As I've seen abit of it around as of late can anyone please give me their first had review about it if you are shooting it.

    Regards Magnus

I shot 30 rounds of it a couple weeks ago. No misfires. The cartridges came out of unopened 15 round boxes clean and unblemished and in stripper clips also unblemished. My K98 was not a great performer though so will probably not be dragged out again.

This is a NZDA 200m target, shot at 100m, prone, unsupported.

10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Maybe it would shoot better with different ammo?

Possibly, but I don’t need it to, it’s just forming part of a collection.

I've shot a lot of this ammo. Best thing you can do is get a new mainspring. Will make ignition about 95% reliable.

I was there that day for the comp. You're shooting was better than a lot of the LE guys. And definitely the guy with the Mosin. And hey, if you're not happy with a K98, let me take it off your hands lol.

    Is the brass reloadable?

Its burden primed like most milsurp, and also corrosive.

    Hi Magnus,
If you don't want the brass I'll grab it. I'll pay the postage. I'll either reprime with Berdans or convert to boxer. It's pretty good brass.

I've got about 750 rounds sitting in a box at home if anyone wants to buy it.Not sure on price- I think I paid 80 cents a round.
