Airgun doubters watch this. Your LR efforts are on notice! 1000y on a 2L softdrink

This is either the finest fitting of a scope / best shot ever taken / most still wind / act of God OR it is an absolute hoax. What say you people?

Btw I worked out he'd have needed 56m of holdover if zero'd at 100y to hit that 2L coke bottle at 1000y. I have expert advice that this wasn't a hoax and he's apparently a kick arse F-class shooter as well as an airgun trailblazer. If its real, I put it forward that this is the best shot I have ever seen.

I have no trouble believing the projectile will easily reach that far if you read the ballistics.
Hitting what you're aiming at there will be luck but I'd guess he's previously zeroed and tested the gun a lot.
If you look at how elevated the muzzle is, that'd correspond to what the OP calculated.

I'd guess many of you guys haven't used a decent PCP air rifle. Grab the opportunity if you ever get the chance. My 40 ft-lb .22 AirWolf routinely takes starlings out of the macrocarpa at 80+yds, in fact I'd say if there's no wind, I have better than an 80% chance of stoning one first shot. Magpies are easy at that distance.

Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

Its so hard to believe because most airguns use shuttlecock looking skirted pellets. He's using cast solid slugs that are lobbed up at 35deg.

I'll bring Brendan (ClarkArms) up to the next long range event and we'll see if his 20cal rifle can replicate that shot.
First problem, what the hell is that mount the guy is using? Brendan would need assistance with the optics but his custom made Airguns are as powerful / accurate as the one shown.
    I've seen his 50cal cloverleaf at 100m

I timed from the report to the hit (badly) and got 1.65 seconds. Plus the 2.7 seconds the sound takes to travel from the airgun to the target, the projectile was in the air for about 4.34 seconds. That's an average of about 690 fps.

Sounds about right to me, and you won't get sort of delay between the report and the hit unless you're at very silly range with subsonics.

One, which was a miss on the steel plate as he explained. The bottle was placed next to it for a size comparison.

Can you please ring Elle McPherson and tell her that VC? She didn't believe me the last time I told her I was going to pin a tail,on her.
