AKL area - range open on Saturday for general public

As per subject line, looking for somewhere to go scratch my itchy trigger finger. So far, the NZDA branches nearby either have no shoot on Saturday (AKL North) or members only on Saturday (AKL). I've enquired previously about joining the non-member shoot as a spectator only, just to get to know the people and the scene but was redirected to the Sunday slot which is open for non-members. That makes it difficult as my Sundays are quite full. Google isn't helpful at all, between ranges generally not being well published and likely some sensorship of our "undesirable pastime" according to the powers that be.

So yeah, where can I go or who can I contact to convert money into noise on a Saturday? Willing to take a drive but ideally to the north then to avoid having to go through the city.

Waiuku Pistol club allows non-members to shoot rifles on Sat between 12-2pm I think.
Check their website, as you will have to register with the secretary prior anyway.
    No booking, no shoot.

Clevedon Rifle Club shoot on Saturday. However you have to shoot the range set out in the calendar. Could be from 300yds to 1000yds. Also if you are an absolute newb and can't hit the target you will be asked to stop. They don't want their electronic targets shot up.

10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

@Nkwe NZDA membership has several advantages. Not the least of which is the multi-million dollar public liability insurance enjoyed by all members. Non-members whom have accidentally started fires in public forests have literally “lost the farm” to pay for forest fire fighting and state forestry loses... In Auckland, your choices for range shooting are pretty much locked up with either of the 2 NZDA branches in Riverhead, ASRA and NRA at Clevedon (by arrangement with the farm owner) and Waiuku.
