    AR15 Day

    All AR15 shooters, we have organised an AR15 day at the HVNZDA Kaitoke Range. This will be run in conjunction with the WSRA.

    223 Only - No muzzle brakes, open to A & E Cat shooters

    Course of Fire attached - Sighting in from 8.30 to 9.15, must register before 9.30 , event starts at 9.45 - you'll need 85 rounds.

    Cost is $20 range fee - this includes BBQ lunch

    Must bring License, Eye and Ear protection

    Prizes for top A & E Cat shooters and lucky dip prize draw.

    looks like a fun day , ... I haven't been to the range before , how is the access and terrain for one legged (with prosthetic) shooters?

    Actually the more I think on this, you may have difficulty with the very short (1m) slope from the carpark to the mound/benches. But you could overcome this by walking around the firing mound and approaching from the front during a closed range period.

    Access from carpark to benches now has a ramp on the LHS and steps on the RHS so should be a piece of piss

    One of the best shooters is similar with a damaged leg. For some of the rounds where you have to run forward someone carries the gun forward for him while he uses his crutch. He's usually in the top scores which I find amazing considering.

    Service rifle has 'service rifle' which is A1/A2 irons only I think and then open. This one doesnt say but frankly it is a lot of fun to do so just turn up and have a go.

    No , only 2 classes A Cat and E Cat, you can run whatever ioptics you wnat, open, dots, scopes, 2 sights etc

    The Service rifle guys are there to help, the day is open to any optics or mods, only classes are A Cat and E Cat, simple!

    Guys, just a reminder shoot is this sunday.

    Open to any AR15s, any sights, A or E Cat,
    Prize for 1st place in each catergory (A and E), prize table for all shooters (lucky number draw)
    BBQ Lunch inc
    80 to 90 rounds required (ammo available on the day)
    $20 entry fee
