Mate I have reached that grumpy old man stage of life where I have had all filters surgically bypassed and now dump what I need to say without regard to others. The owners of the property have sunk millions into the place and the facility was even opened by the then minister of police. I enjoyed the flexibility of the access arrangements as did others so it had a great membership uptake and the development plans would have no doubt seen it become a world class venue. Then it all went pear shaped when complaining dissenters (including the naval gazing meditation centre miles down the road) started up about noise and too much dirt being shifted and the multiplicity of oxygen thieving bureaucrats from the council and police got involved, sat on their chuffs and dusted off the rule books to quote chapter and verse. I have always had a dim view of councils and waste of space bureaucrats and since the Tarrant fuck up I now feel similarly about Police management (note not the coppers doing the real work). I would like to think that the resource consent application will be successful but I am sceptical and suspect that regardless of how much money gets thrown at this process complaining Karens will prevail because that is just how shit goes these days. Some rules and regulations are absolutely essential to the survival of civilised society (e.g. drive on the correct side of the road) but most simply slow shit down and justify the existence of the multitude of bureaucrats. In the worst of possible threats to mankind survival conditions i am in that dwindling minority that will just get on with it and do what needs to be done while others are wondering whether they really should start a fire and cook the neighbours dog because of the rules.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
