    well that's a curly one.....bush stalking hobbits would probable AVERAGE 40 yards...some at 5 and some at 150
    open country from 100- as far as you can shoot
    personally after 40 ish deer there are only 3 that I couldn't have/would have struggles to hit with open sighted .30/30 I started out with.
