    Ballistics Apps

So - what is everyone using?

I've been using iStrelok (free), and it's good. I particularly like the reticle function where you can see exactly where to aim after inputting your data. For me this is very useful as I have a holdover reticle. It also gives me different ranges for the different holdover points on my reticle - and updates them depending on the zoom.

I find it very useful to be able to actually see where to aim in relation to the target, rather than just getting numbers spat out, for example 24 inches high and 6 inches to the left, etc. You still have the option of dialing as it gives you clicks, etc.

Do any other apps do this? I see that there are quite a few in the $10-30 range and wonder if they're better, and how much better if so.

I use iSnipe and a friend uses Ballistic. Ballistic looks fantastic but I don't need two apps.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

I'm using Strelok+ and like it a lot. Used it out to 500m with the AR's and 200m with .22lr. If the input data is good it's usually spot on.

Yeah, Strelok has been accurate to 406yds for me (couple inches off but that coulda easily been me at that range). Does Strelok+ still have the reticle features I mentioned? I heard that it doesn't but it has more fancy stuff like spin drift and coriolis, etc.

Edit - yeah, VC, stuffs me too! I've only fired a couple of shots in bad wind (at rocks), and I couldn't figure it at all. Mind you, one was a 600yd shot in 100km/hr gusts, so I didn't give myself much chance!!

I've heard a lot of good things about Shooter. Thanks for the replies - keep em coming!

Strelok Pro adds differant drag models, spin drift, corialus (spelt that wrong haha) and takes away the reticles.

Strelok+ adds heaps of reticles, a truing function, ability to mix units of measurement, an incline indication feature (tilt or ph camera)

Shooter has suit my needs at 1000m. Have used Strelock, very good also.

What app you use is less important than the data you put into it!

Having a good understanding of the wind speed and setting up the bullet and rifle data. Scale factors can be used in shooter if needed too.

Shooter doesn't work with ballistic reticles the way that Strelok does. So if that's the functionality you're really wanting, stick with Strelok.

Thanks. Does Strelok+ still have the reticles?
