Thread: Barrel warmer?

So I take the action out of the stock to do a few mods to the sling and bipod attachment then get a call about a goat cull . Put the action back in, torque it back up and off we go. First shots a sitter, and a miss! next 3 ok. Wander on bout 15 minutes later find the mob again 1st shot blows a horn off. On the way home put up a quick target and used my last 3 rounds.
At 100 "yards" round 1out of a cold barrel is 40 mm high rounds 2 & 3 are dead on. Got home and checked my old zero targets no first round fliers, recheck the torque its ok so I'm stumped any ideas anyone. Should add the actions bedded, cals 223
