    Belmont 130grn 308

I have a couple of packets of Belmont's 130 grain .308, that I was keen to try on an upcoming deer shooting trip.
I have a BSA Majestic (the old muzzle break one) and thought these may be good, lighter recoil, pretty small light rifle.
Has anyone had experience with them, and if so how did you set up your rifle for them? What range did you 0 at, and any other ballistic info would be appreciated?

they generally shoot very well if the hollow point version. they do about 3000 fps in standard lengths from memory. they are a quite frangible bullet and are probably best slipped behind the shoulder on big animals but otherwise good.
I would zero 200m and just aim a little higher out to 300m.

Sorry yes Speer HP. I was thinking 200 would be a good distance, I probably wouldn't try anything over 300. My ability and its only a little pill.
I also think Belmont said 2900fps. Any thoughts on 0, maybe 1" high at 50??

    For me in 18" Barell

    1/2 inch low at 25
    1/2 inch High at 50
    2 inch high at 100

should be approx. zero at 200

Very accurate in my rifle, only shot a couple animals with them but worked well

    Cheers

    At 2900 fps a 200yd zero will be 1.9" high at 100yd and 8.7" low at 300yds and 26" low at 400.At 300yds will still be doing 2000fps with 1159 ft.lbs energy.

Make sure they feed out of the magazine.

Sometimes the big flat hollow point can be problematic.

They are an extremely accurate projectile.

They can be very explosive if pushed much past 2900 ish

Their BC is very poor so won't go far without falling out of the sky..... typical 308 really
