    Berger 230gr hybrid on game

After hearing all the positive results that people have been reporting with the 230gr Berger hybrid I thought it was about time to see it for myself. My choice of case would be 300 Norma in a light weight Remington 700, McMillan hunters edge stock, Lilja 26" number 4 contour fluted barrel, brake and a leupold VX6 3x18x44 in light weight Talley 30mm rings. Load development went well with small groups and 2950fps so it was time to get out and try them on game. The following weekends weather looked good so of I went with high hopes on what the new rifle and 230gr Bergers could do. The below photos tell a very happy story the range was 520 yards not far but a great start.

Yes all the blood everywhere was a shock but it dose mean it should work well at longer ranges. In a light weight rifle its quite a bit nicer to shoot than a 338 300gr its still early days but so far I'm impressed.

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

About 15 yards with a big nose dive in the ground.
