@Stocky told me about a very clever trick, applying a very thin smear of Devcon etc to the rings before assembly; this giving a 'perfect' fit without lapping. Product is so thin that it will flake off easily if the scope is swapped out. I cant remember, but he may of suggested a coat of release agent to the rings and scope
Yeh pretty much although jb Kwikweld is much nicer as it's set time is short. And yes 100% use a release agent of the scope. I find it less prone to marring scope tube also compared to lapping. Bedding under rings to action is pretty common with rails stateside.
