I did just put up with it at first but it's been months now of these assholes chipping away to the point that I am now on the internet basically begging for a scrap of grass to shoot on in instead.
You have to realise that things will be relentless and with no end . I had to listen to a rant to a woman which envolved a very graphic use of a road cone ,it is never ending and a womens is worse . Although I haven't been abused to my face for a while , plenty behind my back at the moment . You just have to be inventive in retaliation

True - lepto can't cause liver failure if your liver is already killed by Waikato

One of the worst jobs ever. If one of them has a tantrum, spits his dummy and throws it over the wall...you'll be the one taking the blame for upsetting them and you'll be the one to fetch it and apologize. Those fellas' take their jail careers very seriously.

They will show up as a group when I am already there, get annoyed at for being there because they expected the range to be empty and then start mouthing off under their breath with misogynistic bullshit and how "that little shit" is going to ruin their range day by shooting semi autos.
They are the only group of people I have problems with, most of the people that use the range are great but those old assholes seem to be there most days of the week just standing around talking and getting annoyed at people for actually shooting.

I'd pay $80 for a four hour booking, shoot for an hour and then leave. Four hours is the minimum booking but I don't have that much free time in one chunk to shoot on weekdays.

    Deerstalkers

I try and sometimes do get the place to myself but I don't even mind sharing the range, it's just that one group of old assholes that I try to avoid but they always seem to be hanging out there like it's their social club house.
I have just joined the Hutt Valley deerstalkers this week, if it’s true it’s full of grumpy old men I should fit right in.

You have my deepest sympathy wanting to be a Corrections officer.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
