Will it be returned to the RIGHTFUL owner now they know who it belongs to? No. Policy is to destroy it regardless once it is no longer needed for evidence. So why would he need to know who it had been stolen from?

Almost all firearms are already registered (MSSA, B, and C, Cat ones) so if they cannot do this in timely fashion how is addding more problems going to help them make it work?

Here is the challenge- If he is so convinced that it will work, will he bet his career and lifestyle on it? When it fails will he promise to go back to England in shame and stay there since he thinks their system is so great? (Oh and he can pay the bill off in installments....)
One of the COLFO reps recently commented on a case where an MSSA owner had his firearms stolen, and the gun charges being dropped against the perpetrator (no mention of others). The court ordered the destruction of his firearms, despite them being registered and able to be returned.
