    Cartridge ID please

    Hi Team,
    I am looking to ID a couple of cartridges I have had for a while which might be of more interest / use to someone other than me.

    This centrefire cartridge below I believe is a WW11 relic, IIRC. It's live. I dont know the cal. Any expert/s who could tell me more ?

    imagehost

    The cart. below is a rimfire. Cal unknown and I'm guessing contains shot ... ?? Looks like a stylised capital "E" stamped on the base.
    Any expert/s who could tell me more ?

    This ( old ) box Remington branded 22LR cartridges contains 22 brass cased cartridges stamped with a capital "u" on the base, and 15 zinc coated (?) cartridges with "HI U SPEED" stamped on the bottom. I guess the zinc cased ones are HiSpeed Kleenbore as the box indicates, and the bullets are hollow points, also noted on the box. But what are the others ? Nothing I can find tells the bullet weight.

    Last one clearly is a small quantity of 22 LR shot cartridges. I think the ICI brand is old. Really just asking if it has any collector value to anyone.
    quick image upload

    As always, thanks for any info provided.
    Cheers

    6.5 Arisaka would be my guess for the top one.

    Top one is defiantly a Japanese cartridge, 7.7jap should be 79.6mm long give or take and 6.5jap should be 76mm give or take.

    Calliper the projo and that will give you your answer.

    But, 100% a Japanese cartridge.

    Also, measure the case length of the cartridge in the picture at the top. If I am correct in my assumption it should measure approximately 50.8mm - 51mm. And ofcourse measure the projectile diameter as close as possible to the case neck. The overall length of the cartridge should be around 75.4mm.

    silly idea but would the bottom one be a Ramset charge?

    They are 22 and I have some with Winchester X stamped on the bottom, it's just that the crimped blank style top looks like one - they are graded by colour, might be purple or black??

    @308
    They are in the small blue box pictured above them. The box says "shot cartridges" so I guess they're for shoot'n critters. Probably wouldn't be best used in a Ramset gun

    @Allizdog
    Case length: 50.65 mm
    Projectile diameter close to case neck: 6.60 mm
    Cartridge OAL: 76.20 mm

    Close enough to to call it 6.5 Arisaka you think ?

    Spot on. Just had a look at the ww2 6.5 jap here and they have the identical primer crimp pattern, 76mm overall and the bullet is sealed with red lacquer - you can see a trace of the same in the photo above.

    Yes. It must be a 6.5 Arisaka being Japanese and of that era and dimensions.
