Interesting debate you have started. Spiker for me.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Seeing as we shot 2 spikers last week, I'll have to go spiker but wouldn't begrudge someone shooting the hind, I however don't believe in shooting hinds with fawns at foot, leaving them to starve, that's just cruel & unethical

Same here, being a Jafa I'd take both, sometimes spikers are dumb and hang about.

Or if two of us were there we would line up on both them and let rip on the count of 3

Every one is different & Every year is different .....

This happened on 3 occasions at the end of last year, Put rifle down and just sat back and watched. (had plenty of veni in frezzer, should of taken camera instead) that was 2014.

2015 how ever, Hunted all year, Not one deer, I'd shoot both if I could. Do 2 or 3 trips over 2 days to get all the meat out if need be too.

Past up a pair last week at 100m. The freezers are OK at the moment, so let them feed away.

What Friwi said without a doubt: trophies are all too often associated with hero worship.

If no choice then it's the one I see) couldn't be arse taking gun for a walk to not shoot anything if I didn't need the meat.......unless of course you are scared in the bush on your own hence armed tramping??

I tend to only go hunting if i need the meat. Means i dont hunt as much as i would like but I dont like killing for no reason. Think its a waste. What do you do with animals if the freezer is full.

If you had read my other comments you would see I give to friends and family. I have never and will never shoot an animal and not take meat. I hunt as I enjoy it so I go all the time. Average at least once a week.
