I think it's more about clean bore than cold bore.

Fouler seems more off zero than cold bore shot.
I put one into the bank or somewhere at the start before I'm lining up on an animal.

Yea, because the barrel has been cleaned out with bore solvent I believe it’s clean bore vs fouled too. My rifles always get left fouled for that reason. My 260 will throw one to two rounds off like that if the bore is cleaned before it settles back in to being fouled.

Thats why I just put a dry bore snake through mine between hunts and when I do deep clean I fire a fouling shot after.

Yeah I reckon it's more 'clean' bore that is the issue. I dry boresnake too if I'll be hunting with that rifle regularly. I used to put a shot into the ground as I left the vehicle if my barrel was clean and I was going to to be headshooting, if bush hunting or body shooting I didn't bother.
Some rifles with overbarrel suppressors can suffer more from cold bore if the rear bush is too tight/uneven close clearance to the barrel. More bush clearance will fix this.

Went to our range on Tuesday evening, trying to hit a target at 300yds.Barrel was dirty and it was 28c out side. With thermal clip on i couldn't hit a square metre target.Spot on at 200yds.Bullits were hitting the dirt below target.I dialed up from 4 moa to 7moa to 9moa = no hit.
I thort oh no my day scope crapped out.I must have fire 12 rds, barrel scorching hot and so was I.
I went home, next morning I gave barrel 4 wets,3 dry hopps patchs.Checked rifle over, even stock screws.Everything where it should be.
Went to range yesterday with a patched up old target about 2pm,35c out in the sun.At 100yds I fired a fowling shot,Hornady 165sp.Then fired 2 Hornady 165ssts,ammo I shoot deer with.
Good result and walked away.Day scope n rifle accurate as.Think il stick to 200yds with clip on.I know tikkas don't like dirty hot barrels after 12? shots put thru quickly say inside 20 minuts on a 30c day.
Heres my fowling shot Hornady whitetail 165gr sp.

Every rifle is different but this one is a keeper - rifle is kept "fouled" cause I don't clean unless accuracy drops but this is a cold bore group at 100M

Went to the range to try a cold clean bore shot from my Sako Creedmoor today.
I fired 1 shot from a cold clean barrel then a second shot straight after it.
The DPT is MOA so 3" at 300M pretty happy with that
