Nothing wrong with shooting off a bipod folded up over pack, find this often sets rifle at a nice angle shooting ridge to ridge and also very stable to get nice and low position behind rifle but still some elevation.

All techniques aside if after breaking shot and recoil sightpicture comes back onto close to exact spot you were aiming you technique is good.

More ammo downrange and you will figure it out what's going on.
