DPMS 16 inch 308 ...
hey guys did the basic testing of the standard 16 inch dpms Oracle... grouped well under the 1 moa mark with its preferred load.
but a great test and something anyone who has tried any kinda extended range shooting will enjoy is this clip shot off a cold bore at 568 yards.
fresh gong hung it off a clay bank so it wasnt a known distance...
i have never been disappointed with any AR platform rifle and this was no exception

Very nice :)
Who knew a 308 would go that far ????

thats awesome. great skills.

Yep lg.
It's great accuracy for a factory rifle.
That's 168 match doing a mild 2600
I can't think of a better rifle for culling when the .223 runs out of puff.

I have been getting good results with sst 150grn at 2720fps 44.5 2206.What load are you using for the 168grn?
-
Damn your giving me a itchy trigger finger
-
Sweet as.......great shooting mate!!!!!!
-
Do you find the shots always string right like your first 3 shots did?
I just say it because a LMT I used did the same twice in a row, thought it must have been me but was sceptical.
-
Yep it's hard to tell in this case... I really wasn't taking enough care in shots to give a you a definitive answer.
At that range as I shoot the rifle it slips into a different place on the shoulder giving slightly more tension with each shot... Also notice the slight pause before the 5th as I reset my position and it puts the shot right Back into the first 2...
Doesn't take much at that range...

Nice shooting.... what scope is that

Thanks Doc,
I've been looking at a DPMS LR-260 for a little while and had concern that the accuracy might not cut it, this video assures me that their rifle are the goods.

In 260 that would be interesting... Also important to note this model I have is one of the base models - 16 inch barrel, non free float handguard- heavy trigger...
With an AR if your shooting in "the field" you need to resign yourself to the fact your gonna loose a fair amount of brass so have a good supply and buy at the right price...
