E Cat license, service rifle reqs

Looking at getting the E cat with the impending changes. Now I don't require one as of yet, but don't want to leave it till the change and just be seen by the AO as just wanting to have an E to keep my naughty AR15. I do however want to get into service rifle and a bit of fun stuff early next year. Is there a good service rifle club in chch that has a few shoots that i can join to put another tick in the box? or do you simply have to be a member of the nz service rifle ass. Also what are peoples thoughts on putting pest control at the farm on the form??? Not culling.
Another factor came up while at the gun store yesterday is that it may become easier to get the E during the change as the police would rather have the firearms registered and because you already have your A you are seen as a fit and reasonable person, and that shouldnt change because you want an E cat rifle.
Sorry if that all seems a bit complicated.

be good to hear from you guys in the know, or have just been through the process.

O, the safe fund is almost at the mark so security requirements taken care of

    cheers

Maybe have a talk to Robbie Tiffin at Gunworks as he was running a few shoots or have a look at Shooting looks like they have shoot on the 29 September.

When applying for you e endorsement put as many reasons as possible as to your reasons why you need it but be prepared to support those reasons. Apparently some people that just put target shooting have had restrictions put on there endosement to the effect that they can only use their e cats on a certified range.

Another thing to consider if you have an interest in pistol shooting and/or restricted firearms is to apply for all your endorsements at the same time then you only have one application fee to pay.
