    The essence of stupidity

Was talking to a mountain biking mate of mine this week & he told me an extremely scary story that happened to him last Sunday Nov 3rd around 3:00pm up the central NI, On the Poutu Canal dam, to be more precise.

He's not into hunting or shooting but is a very keen trout fisher, loves riding his bike, has a batch in Turangi so does the trails up there all the time. So was slightly bewailed when he popped up from the trail onto the dam wall rode along it to check to the trout down the end & was wondering why there was a large white plate with a orange dot in the middle of it in the scrub at the end of the dam, Looked over to see a guy laying next to a white ute on the other side about 2-400ards away, gave a wave then gapped it then heard multiple shots as he rode off.

Steve didn't really think about it until he was down the track & it came to him how lucky he was- But for fuk sake it's a pubic walking / biking area with multiple access points & this cunt has used a private forestry block road to access an area to shoot across the face of a Dam ( open to Joe public ) for target practice

How farken stupid are people, it boggles the mind to think a cunt like this has a FA licence & we wonder why the honest - sensible FAL holders are getting grief.

    Cheers you farken moron

And we wonder why there's people creating groups like Gun Control in New Zealand.
I saw a similar if not worse situation where a bunch of drop kicks were "sighting in" a rifle in a stoney river bed with the very near backdrop being a well used road bridge here in Napier. After telling the group they should fuck right of before I call the police I checked the banana box they were shooting at. Not one hole in it from about 50y. Good knows where the bullets went.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

When the bunds and safety protocols are followed, the cars are perfectly safe.....But I think I would be a little disconcerted to say the least.....

Wow imagine trying to do something like that here. All the hand wringers would be rallying the troops.

This sign, erected by DoC used to be for a light no fires warning, is exactly 50 metres from the car park on Thompson's Track...directly behind it is about 500 metres of the track that cant be seen...all the holes are probably created by people who have been issued FAL's

One of the roads here on the island has shotgun holes in all the metal powerpole shrouds, not just one or two but 10? Poles all with multiple blasts in them.

There are idiots everywhere, as usual its the few that give the majority a bad name

This is why the new arms amendment has provisions such as shooting only on a designated range, and this is also a big part of why the average firearms owner is public enemy number one in the eyes of the general public, because let's face it, there are way too many trigger happy retards with firearms licences that dont have easy access to places to shoot so everytime they get their firearm out they feel some kind of insatiable urge to shoot it, at anything. I went on a "forum organized hunting trip" (fishnhunt forum) back in the day, and the same assholes that spouted all the dribble about being safe and "you should have the bolt removed" when they saw photos on the forum, were the very same retards that got pissed up at a road end and began shooting bottles and road signs, these guys were all well old enough to know better also and myself and one of the other younger fellas ended up leaving at that point.

Pisses me off to no end when I see stuff like this. The last dam up at Mangahao has plenty of shot up signs and lake level marker posts, even the equipment housing shed affixed to the top of the dam centred in the middle along the walkway has bullet holes thru it My son if with me bears the brunt of my rant (when cornered in the car on the homeward drive) about what type of fu#ckwits who do this stuff and brings shame and poor public perception upon the honest law abiding gun owners.

Not sure. Better way to tell would be look around where they were shooting from. If you find a spare glock on the ground then you can say "yes"....(Or a puddle of blood from the butt shot victim....)

I saw a logging trucks next Xkm sign in the Marlb sounds full of bullet / buck shot holes outside a village. When I mentioned it, I was told the holes had occurred when it was at a logging site when some "off duty staff" had returned and did not have a target. safely used as a target but stupidly used something that was not theirs....) The damaged sign was then used at its new location making it look like someone had been shooting in the village.
Now there's two lots of cocks to say thank you to- the ones who could not find a target, and the ones who decided to place the shot sign in public view making it look like more cocks...

Neyou are going south past Otara, take the off ramp (444) and look at the sign....
Two shotgun blasts into it, and the petrol station, wendys restaurant etc re right behind it.

The local Killer Bees and Tribesmen are perforating each other recently.

Im surprised that sign is not in the news yet
    Use enough gun

Thanks for the replies guys, Sadly it seems a far to regular occurrence, I won't "like" any of ya post's as it kinda goes against my idea of liking something, if ya get my drift lol.

The older I get the more I realise just how many stupid f-wits there are in the world, We've all seen road signs with bullet holes in em, a farming mate even rang the local Cops once when he had some fullas doing it below his house & they weren't even interested, I wonder if that has changed after the last few months ?
