This sign, erected by DoC used to be for a light no fires warning, is exactly 50 metres from the car park on Thompson's Track...directly behind it is about 500 metres of the track that cant be seen...all the holes are probably created by people who have been issued FAL's

Some are a little amusing though. There's a speed sign on the desert road that says "100 it's not a target" and there's half a dozen bullet holes in the target on the sign.
