Thanks for the replies guys, Sadly it seems a far to regular occurrence, I won't "like" any of ya post's as it kinda goes against my idea of liking something, if ya get my drift lol.

The older I get the more I realise just how many stupid f-wits there are in the world, We've all seen road signs with bullet holes in em, a farming mate even rang the local Cops once when he had some fullas doing it below his house & they weren't even interested, I wonder if that has changed after the last few months ?

The one right beside my letterbox actually has a hole in it, was there when we came though. @Philipo I dont know if you can remember at our last place where we had that pond down the end of the farm down the hill from where I shot that black rabbit? The pump shed sitting on that pond is full of bullet holes from idiots going into the rakaia river bed and shooting at it. During duck shooting season we had cows down there and were shifting them one day when BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!!! Out of the scrub in the riverbed right near us, one pair of paradise ducks flys off up into the air unscathed and then the sound of pellets hitting that shed and a whole heap skipping across the pond also, whoever they were must have known we were there as we were making enough noise on the bikes shifting cows etc, must have been shooting at ducks on the water in the riverbed also for the shots to come across that low. I know who they were but not by name, modern Nissan Patrol in gold colour with roof cage on it, used to see it go down there all the time, pretty distinctive vehicle dont see many of them about, I wouldn't be surprised if someone on here knows who they are. There's idiots in all walks of life where people lack a degree of integrity and/or morale's where they think if they can get away with it then they'll do it hence why there's shot up signs, poaching, leaving rubbish in the bush, a carcass in the middle of a camp site or any other un hunter like behavior!

Have seen a few around. Really don't understand the thought process apart from that they're idiots.

How hard is it to find a decent bank and a proper target if you're not going to be going to the range.

Gun Control NZ have probably never been out of Auckland and the new laws are intended to destroy shooting as a sport in NZ not as a reaction to shot road signs FFS

Unfortunately some idiots will always slip through the cracks but it seems recently it's not just idiots but more serious threats.

Bloody unbelievable . Not much you can do about clowns and the best thing is not to claim ownership of them or worry about what gun control mobs think.Gun control mobs want to ban guns even when they are used properly. Some of the Aussie forums here the fellas talk about " the bad apples in our ranks and how we have to take ownership and look at ways to stop them". I say I am not interested in what they shoot up with their guns anymore than I would care if a guy broke a shop window to steal a TV, using the same brand of golf club I own. If the anti mobs want someone to blame they can get the ministers for education or family services on the mat, ask them why we are putting out a generation of nitwits with no social values. Someone else can step in the firing line for a change instead of the go-to method of blaming people who just happened to buy a similar sporting implement.

It seems like every second road/DOC sign out in the country is peppered with bullet holes.

I was hunting a small bush block in Southland a year or so ago, and the DOC sign right at the front of the track was shot up. 1m to the right of it was a small overbridge (over a creek) meant for walkers/hikers. That overbridge is the only way in/out of that place from the main car park (if you're accustomed to following trails - as most walkers are). Had someone walked off the bridge as someone had been shooting at the sign, they would most likely have copped it.

Fucking dangerous idiots are everywhere Phil. The sign at the top of the hill behind me is peppered to hell with shot.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
