Yes, I have found that to generally be true.
In my case with Barnes TSX and TTSX bullets. Can't speak for other mono-metals.
Very educational, I like that he actually went out and tested the theory too.
That horizontal stringing is typical of a fouled barrel that needs cleaning. My howa 308 used to do it if I didn't strip the copper out every now and then. That was one rifle that hated being dirty.
